Yoga’s roots reach far back into history. In fact, Matristic (female centered) civilizations dating back to Neolithic periods show statues and stone carvings of goddesses posed in meditative and yogic postures while giving birth. The depictions are of strong and beautiful women, standing and squatting while supported by other female figures.
Through my of our ancient women, I’ve learned that they were connected to the earth and their surroundings. Our Sisters from the past knew how to harmonize their bodies and minds with the natural rhythms of Mother Nature.
